When I moved to the sub arctic of Northern Ontario I quickly realized I needed to find the best parka and fast! While speaking with locals that had lived here all their lives it became evident that one brand stood out from the rest. That is Canada Goose. I immediately recognized the brand from having seen actors and actresses wearing these coats while on Toronto movie sets during the winter.
Canada Goose Expedition Review came to me as an idea to help along those that were considering this expensive (but worth it) coat. I had been looking to purchase one on eBay and found that there was a lot of discussion on the parka’s being largely counterfeited. There are a proliferation of Canada Goose Fakes on the market and they look very much like the real deal. The reason being is that many people want these coats but don’t want to spend the actual sticker price but want the ‘look’ of a Canada Goose. Below I show you a video that I just put together showing my actual Expedition Parka. One thing that I forgot to mention in the video is that a real Canada Goose is made of material that doesn’t wrinkle. You can find some knockoff’s that have a crinkled cotton shirt wrinkled look to them. That should be a dead giveaway that it’s not legit.
How to determine if a Canada Goose Parka is Legit

Be aware of the following tell tale signs that the coat is a fake:
- Fake fur trim. Real Canada Goose Parka’s have a genuine coyote trim around the hood. It is also wire rimmed so it’s malleable to your liking.
- A wrinkled look to coat. A genuine Canada Goose doesn’t wrinkle. The material is of higher quality and is treated to prevent that.
- Detailed badging – Take a good look at the logo. Is it detailed and legitimate?
- Zipper – The zippers used are only YYK zippers and are large.
- Colors – Are they offering a purple parka? If so, don’t buy. Generally the colours are white, black and red.
